  1. RULES
    The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

    Boats failing to finish within 30 minutes of the first boat to finish will be scored Did Not Finish. This changes Rules 35, A4 and A5.
    Rules A4 and A5 will be changed to state that a boat starting later than 5 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start.
    All competitor’s attention is drawn to the US Federal Law Title 33, Subpart B Personal Floatation Devices that may be enforced by local or federal law enforcement agencies, which requires that while practicing for or racing in competition, each boat must carry for each competitor aboard, either a US Coast Guard-approved flotation device, or a flotation device that conforms to regulations of their own country.  Failure by a competitor to heed this advice is not a protestable item.
  1. ADVERTISING
    The Organizing Authority may require all participating boats to display the event sponsor’s advertising in accordance with World Sailing Regulation 20.
  1. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
    1. Each competitor shall be a 2018 member of his/her respective country’s Class Association affiliated to ISCA.
    2. All participants shall be 40 years of age or older as of September 15, 2018. Competitors will have to meet the same age requirement to qualify for each of the age divisions: Apprentice Master (40-49), Master (50-59), Grand Master (60-69), Great Grand Master (70-79), and Senior Master (80+).
    3. Registration may be completed online at:  SailCYC.Com
    4. Checks are also accepted and should be made payable to “Sunfish Fleet 614” and mailed to 254 Fair Oaks Ave. Rochester NY 14618 along with Entry Form on Addendum 1.
  2. ENTRY FEES
    1. Entry Fee: $80.00(After Sept. 8, 2018 $90.00)
    2. Registration fee includes as a minimum: hors d’oeuvres Friday afternoon,Dinner on Saturday, awards ceremony BBQ, breakfast and lunch on racing days.  Additional activities will be announced at registration.
    3. Registration fees shall be free of any transfer and/or banking costs and/or commissions.  Any charge shall be reimbursed by competitors to complete their entries.
    4. Meal plans available for family members and guests can be purchased for $20.00.

Cash and credit cards are accepted at the club restaurant and bar.

    1500 Awards CeremonyMultiple back-to-back races will be sailed each day with lunch on the water. On Sunday, September 16, no warning signal will be made after 14:00 hours.
  1. MEASUREMENT

Boats and equipment must be compliant with current ISCA rules.  Boats may be selected for re-measurement at any time during the regatta by the ISCA Chief Measurer, or an appointed representative.

  1. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
    The Sailing Instructions will be available at check-in for the regatta.
  1. VENUE
    The regatta venue will be Canandaigua Yacht Club  Racing will be in the waters of Canandaigua Lake.
  1. THE COURSES
    The courses will be windward – leeward, triangles, or combinations thereof.
  1. PENALTY SYSTEM
    Appendix P will apply.
  1. SCORING
    1. The Low Point Scoring System, RRS Appendix A2, shall apply.
    2. One (1) race is required to constitute a series.
    3. A maximum of (15) races will be sailed.
    4. When fewer than six (6) races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
    5. When six (6) to fifteen (15) races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst race.
  2. BERTHING
    Boats shall be kept at the regatta site and in spots assigned by the organizing authority.
  1. PRIZES
    Prizes will be given as follows:
  1. Top five finishers
  2. Highest placed Female finisher (if the top finisher is male) or the highest placed Male finisher (if the top finisher is Female)
  3. Top three skippers in each Division (provided, however, if any Division does not have five (5) or more competitors in the Division preregistered by September 1, 2018, then in such case a prize will only be awarded to the highest placed finisher in such Division):
  • Apprentice Master (40-49)
  • Master (50-59)
  • Grand Master (60-69)
  • Great Grand Master (70-79)
  • Senior Master (80+)
  1. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
    Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.  See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
  1. INSURANCE
    The organizing authority requires that each competitor shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance.
